Make science fun again!

Science is dangerous, because life is dangerous – learn how to be safe and practical with the real dangers of science!

​The MaD science program has been especially designed to appeal to the young primary school audience, with bright colours, loud noises, and simple yet profound science ideas. We focus on the SAFETY message of science in the most entertaining and exciting way we can. Students will experience:
  • Deadly green fire,
  • Freezing cryogenic materials,
  • Poisonous radioactive isotopes,
  • Dangerous toxic chemicals,
  • Murderous millions of volts ,
  • Heartless killer robots,
  • and all things *Dangerous* in science!

This program is based on the burgeoning research of Dr Joe regarding empowering student learning by helping them to, safety and responsibly; face danger, access solutions, and know their limits.  

Sample outcomes:
  • Science as a Human Endeavour, Nature and development of science 5: Science involves testing predictions by gathering data and using evidence to develop explanations of events and phenomena and reflects historical and cultural contributions (ACSHE081)
  • Science Inquiry Skills, Planning and conducting 4: With guidance, plan and conduct scientific investigations to find answers to questions, considering the safe use of appropriate materials and equipment (ACSIS065)
Appropriate for year levels F to 8

Remember - being a "MaD" Scientist is only going to the FUN if everyone stays SAFE! So lets have fun, and have a great time, learning to safely and responsibly manage the dangers of science!!
